Член Ученого Совета МЗ РФ (секция «Туберкулез»), правления Российского общества фтизиатров, Европейского Респираторного общества и Международного союза по борьбе с туберкулезом. Председатель общества фтизиатров Республики Татарстан. Член редакционных советов журналов «Туберкулез и болезни легких», «Общественное здоровье и здравоохранение», «Практическое здравоохранение». Доктор медицинских наук, профессор. Врач высшей категории. Имеет сертификаты по специальностям «Пульмонология», «Фтизиатрия», «Общественное здоровье и здравоохранение». Заслуженный врач Российской Федерации и Республики Татарстан. Награжден значком «Отличник здравоохранения», медалями «За заслуги в проведении Всероссийской переписи населения», «В память 1000-летия Казани», «Почетной Грамотой» МЗ и СР РФ, МЗ РТ.
Тема кандидатской диссертации: «Лечение больных туберкулезом легких с учетом особенностей их личности и отношения к болезни», 1989г. Тема докторской диссертации: «Особенность течения различных вариантов деструктивного туберкулеза легких в современных социально-экономических условиях», 2000г.
Автор более 250 научных работ, 2 монографий, имеет патенты на изобретение. Под его руководством выполнены и защищены 9 кандидатских и 1 докторская диссертации.

His candidate's thesis is on Treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients with the Consideration of Their Personal Features and Their Attitude towards the Disease, 1989. His doctor's thesis is on Specific Course of Different Variants of Destructive Pulmonary Tuberculosis under Current Social-Economic Conditions, 2000.
